We are Helen & Rick from Harrogate, north yorks. After a trip to crufts we decided that a boxer was the breed for us as they were the only breed still wanting to be fussed at the very end of the third and final day, whilst most other breeds had given up and gone to sleep!
After much research we were lucky enough to buy our first boxer Louie in 2002 from Janice Bracher of the Mulbrae kennels. We had expressed an interest in showing to Janice and she said to take him back to her at 6 months old to show us the ropes, sure enough we took him back and started the task of training him for the ring.
We joined the northern boxer club and took him to their monthly training sessions and a few months later we took him to his first show. To our surprise he got a first place at his first open show and shortly after he gained second place at his first championship show, thus qualifiying him for crufts and we were hooked!
We love all things japanese, so we chose the affix Subarashii which means beautiful or great in japanese as we feel this best describes the breed.
In 2004 we thought we should have a companion for Louie and we bought Alisha from Carol Schofield at the Koppernox kennel. Ali has also done very well in the show ring for us (when she behaves!) and this year gained a 5th place at crufts.
In october 2007 Ali gave birth to our first litter by ch Koppernox Mickey Finn, she has proved a brilliant mother and you can see them on our puppy pages.
Our belief is that it should be all breeders responsibilty to breed not just show dogs but healthy dogs with sound temperaments.
We love everything about boxers so please sign our guest book and share your thoughts with us.
